Aurelia Has Entered the Chat

Two weeks after launch, Revide is settling in. There have been bugs, lessons and plenty of late nights—but this journal isn't really about that. It's about introducing Aurelia, our AI bridal guide, and why we believe she'll become an important part of every bride's journey.
Hello!
I think i’m always going to want to start these journals telling you where I am sat whilst writing. Not for your benefit of course. Just so I have a place to start. So, here I am in Gaia Coffee Bar, Grimsargh. The place that sits next door to our bridal store, the place we developed into a place where so many people call home, the place I call home.
It is Friday late afternoon and Melissa & I have some time before our next bride arrives at 6:30pm. The warm sun is trying to peak though a cloud filled sky, but its humid and we have the doors open. A perfect Friday afternoon really.
It’s been a couple of weeks now since the team pressed the Go Live button on Revide and when wrote the first journal 14 days ago I thought, at this stage, I would be writing that the whole thing was a massive success!
Plot twist, it wasn’t.
Well I am not quite telling you that it's been a failure either. Its’ been somewhere in the middle. And with hindsight, I think it turned out better than I could have hoped. Revide launched on the Friday and we saw some great traffic! We also saw some bugs and issues too. I am so glad we didn’t do a huge launch with lots of PR.
The beauty of being me right now is that I have the best team that surround me. Our technical guys have worked wonders ironing out any issues and now Revide is working smoothly and I am much happier. Anyway, that's the introduction! (I will try to keep this to two pages of A4)
What’s New
The main reason for writing this journal is to let you know that Aurelia our AI assistant is now live!
But wait, what or who is Aurelia????
Back three years ago, when the germ of an idea was still in the petri dish, I knew I wanted as much technology in the platform as we could afford. And this had to include Artificial Intelligence. Unknowing about the cost and effort of developing an AI angle to Revide, I committed to including it in the wireframes (a tech word for basic drawings apparently).
The last three years of excitement around the world about AI has only crystalised the confidence I have that AI (and in our case Aurelia) is the future of the Revide platform. In all transparency, Aurelia was a name dreamt up by the tech team. And as we discussed it, I knew immediately that I didn't want to change the name. It’s European, unusual, female and bloody perfect.
Side note: Wikipedia says Aurelia is “A classic Latin baby name meaning "golden", famously borne by the mother of Julius Caesar”
Aurelia will be the bride’s personal bridal guide. It will know EVERYTHING about the wedding dress industry, the process and the advice brides look for. Aurelia will NEVER replace stores’ own knowledge and expertise. Stores hold more knowledge than Aurelia ever could. However, she will be a close second.
The fun bit starts now. We are treating Aurelia like a growing child. The education has already started and our strive for perfection started at the same time. We’ve also given her some Easter Eggs for you to find, good luck!
I must thank our development team and the team at GPTMate, especially Richard Whyte, who have made this possible. So, go ahead, go chat to Aurelia, see what you can find out.
